Spanish Colonial Revival 

Spanish Colonial Revival is one of the prominent architectural styles in California. This movement in the United States came about during the early 20th century and was based on the style of Spanish Colonial architecture which was used during the Spanish colonization of the Americas.The City of Santa Barbara adopted this style during rebuilding after the 1925 Santa Barbara earthquake which caused widespread destruction. Santa Barbara’s adoption and use of this style has caused many to use the term “Santa Barbara” style design and furniture to describe the Spanish Colonial Revival style.
